The Last King of Israel – 29 January 2017

We continue our journey though he books of Kings. Chapter 17 contains one of the turning points of the whole Old Testament. It’s been coming for some time, and it’s finally here. It’s the story of the “The Last King of Israel.” And it’s the story of Israel’s exile to Assyria. 2 Kings 17 is where the broken record for the northern kingdom finally skips off the turntable. And we come to the end of that sad, sad song. There is not much to learn from the kings of this time, so we find our lessons focusing on our Lord: 1. The Lord is Holy, 2. The Lord is Patient, 3. The Lord is Jealous, and 4. The Lord is Loving.
