The Family Table – December 25, 2023

December 25, 2022

Dear LEFC Parents,

Merry Christmas!

I hope your whole family experiences joy, peace, hope, and love today because of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ!

The Gospel Project at Home

Today in our worship gathering, Emigh Modzel taught the kids present about how a candy cane can remind us of Who Jesus is, what He did for us, and why He came that first Christmas.

There was no Children’s Church this morning, but there is a Gospel Project at Home link with a Christmas lesson if you want to gather your family together and use it for family devotions today. It’s called “God Keeps His Promises.”

And for Dessert…

Next Sunday is the first day of the new year. It’s time now to be thinking ahead about family discipleship in 2023, and especially how to get more Bible into our family’s minds and hearts. What is your own plan for reading the Bible in 2023? We have some in the foyer, as usual. I tend to use this one. How about for your kids?

David Murray has produced one specifically designed for kids ages 6-12 called Exploring the Bible: A Bible Reading Plan for Kids which is worth a look. It’s a workbook they can write in, and has weekly entries with:

– Daily Bible readings
– Prayer points
– Memory verse
– Discussion questions
– Space for sermon notes and reflections

Let me know if your family uses it. I hope your family eats it up.

Blessings,

Pastor Matt

P.S. Thank you for reading these “Family Table” emails the last two months. Let us know if you find them helpful. As we head into the new year, we will be evaluating whether they ought to continue and/or how to improve them.
