Feeding the Faith of LEFC Families
TFT: Shy Child
June 1, 2025
Dear LEFC Families,
It’s been a full Spring of ministry here at LEFC, and we’re just getting ramped up for a fun-filled summer! When planning your summer fun, be sure to include our LEFC fellowship opportunities on your calendar!
Join us for Family Night this Friday!
Family Night will be this Friday, June 6th. Bring the whole family out to LEFC from 6-8 for a free dinner, fun, and fellowship connecting with old friends and getting to know new ones!
Family Bible Week Registration
This year, we plan to launch Family Bible Week registration in advance to help teachers better prepare for their classes. We hope to have registration open this upcoming week. Check out our Facebook page or next week’s TFT email to register your child(ren)!
Touch a Truck at the Good News Cruise
The Good News Cruise will be held on August 16th, and we’ll once again be incorporating Touch a Truck for the kids. Mark your calendars to join us for a fun-filled day!
Family Bible Week Volunteers
Family Bible Week is fast approaching! This year’s FBW will be July 7-13. We will soon have a volunteer sheet in the foyer to sign up to help in various ways. If you’re thinking about helping out directly with the kids and don’t yet have your clearances and paperwork submitted to become a Family Ministries volunteer, see Jenni or Jordyn to get those started now!
“The Israelites Wanted a King” Kids Bible Class Devotional
You have free access to a family devotional based on the curriculum our kids are studying each week in KBC! It’s called “The Gospel Project at Home.” Today’s Bible Study is “The Israelites Wanted a King” (Volume 4: Unit 10: Session 1), and the devotional can be found at this link.
Visit the Family Ministries page on our website for information about how to access The Gospel Project at Home for the first time.
Our recommendation for family discipleship this week is a short video for parents about helping a child who seems bashful and intimidated in groups.
Aaron Sironi, a counselor and teacher at CCEF, answers the question, “How do I encourage and help my child who is shy and anxious in social settings?”
Sironi offers helpful counsel that gives hope. He suggests reasons why our children may act shy, strategies for preparing them for difficult interactions, encouragement to have meaningful conversations about their feelings, a focus on our children’s hearts, and a simple (but not simplistic) reminder that God is with them.
Sironi has also written a children’s book about shyness featuring a bashful bunny, Sadie Finds Her Voice which younger families may find helpful.
More:
– Watch the full video (only 8 minutes).
– Read the transcript.
– More resources from Aaron Sironi
– More “Ask the Counselor” parenting videos from CCEF
We hope our families eat it right up!
