The Family Table
Feeding the Faith of LEFC Families
TFT: Miracle Mountain Ranch
May 14, 2023
Dear LEFC Parents,
Here are some items on the agenda for the days ahead:
The Gospel Project at Home
Today’s Bible Study is “Jeroboam Disobeyed God” (Volume 5: Unit 13: Session 1). Ask your kids what they learned in children’s church this morning and/or do the family devotional you can find at this link.
Snack and Yack
Snack and Yack will continue throughout Pastor Matt’s sabbatical. When the auditorium empties after worship, girls and boys (grades 3-7) who listened to the sermon (remember to fill out a handout!) are invited to Pastor Matt’s office for a tasty treat and a brief discussion with one of the LEFC elders (and sometimes guest preachers?!) about the message. Parents, if you would like to help host the discussion by providing the snack, see Holly Crumrine to get involved.
Camp
Interested in attending summer camp at Miracle Mountain Ranch? Regular camp is for ages 8-18. Buckaroo camp, a minicamp, is for ages 6-9. See Marilynn Kristofits for more information.
Save the Date for Family Bible Week!
Family Bible Week will start on July 10th this summer! Make sure to mark your calendar, arrange your work schedule, and schedule your vacation with it in mind.
See Holly Crumrine to find out about this year’s theme and get involved in the advanced planning.
And for Dessert…
To revisit one of our previous topics (see “Camp” above), we’d like to focus on Miracle Mountain Ranch. Our church has partnered with the Ranch for a many years in their ministry, and we have a group of kids and teens that we’re sending once again this year. We have some going to Buckaroo Camp (for ages 6-9), Wild West Camp (for ages 8-12), and even one camper attending their Horsemanship Camp.
All three of my boys attended Buckaroo Camp last year, a three day minicamp to help younger kids get adjusted to sleepaway camp. I was also a volunteer and got to see their service and ministry first-hand for the first time. I was so impressed and can’t wait for them to go back! There’s still room for your kids – see the “Camp” section above to contact our camp coordinator!
This is also a good time to highlight their projects they’ve been working on. Last year I helped clean and prepare a series of new bunkhouses for the campers. This year, they’re focused on renovating their Cattleman’s Hotel – you can see a video of the progress on their facebook page. Exciting things happening at the Ranch, and if you can’t make it this summer, keep an eye out for special programs and retreats they have throughout the year, including parent-child retreats, homeschool days, dinner trail rides, a harvest party, and a hunter’s retreat. If you haven’t been yet, what are you waiting for??
