Church Family News

KBC Teachers/Helpers Lunch Meeting
KBC Teachers and Helpers will be meeting Sunday, September 15^th from Noon-2:00pm for a time of fellowship, training, planning and prayer. LUNCH will be provided. Please RSVP if you are or are not able to attend by today. Please see Vicky Albert with any questions.

Missionary Christmas in September
Each year we collect a special offering aimed to bless the missionaries we support and give them some extra money to use in whatever way they like. Donations will be accepted throughout the month of September. There are envelopes in the foyer on the resources tables or you can mark your gift “Christmas” and drop it in the offering plate.

See You At The Pole
All are invited to join West Branch’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes for a time of prayer at the school’s flagpole. Students will meet at 7:15am on Wednesday, September 25^th. Adults, please park at Gethsemane, walk to the flagpole, and join the kids as they pray for their school.

Celebration Sunday Fellowship Dinner
Last week, there were inserts in your bulletin regarding the meal we will be having on Sunday, October 6^th for Celebration Sunday. We would like as many of those back by Sunday, September 22^nd for a rough idea on attendance and dishes so that the Hospitality Team can get prepared. If you need an insert, they are on the table in the foyer. Please see Linda Carlson for any questions.

Our Daily Bread
Large print copies for October, November and December are now available in the foyer and by the Community Bulletin Board.

Mailbox Updates
Mailboxes have been updated again and are in alphabetical order. Some of the mailboxes have been shifted slightly due to adding a few more into the mix. Be sure to check out yours soon! If you are missing a mailbox and would like one, please see Jenni English.

Pavilion Estimates
The church is now accepting estimates from contractors for building the Ark Park pavilion until September 15^th. Please see Randy Albert for details, specifications, or questions. You can reach Randy at (814) 205-8905.

Interested In Helping The Deaconesses In Providing Meals?
The Deaconesses are looking for some extra hands to help provide meals for people in need in the church family when coming home from the hospital, having a baby, etc. If you are interested in helping or wanting to know more, please see Renee Mostyn. You can reach her at (814) 553-5490.

LEFC Fall Retreat
Join your LEFC church family for a weekend getaway on October 18-20! The Family Ministries Team is excited to invite you to our Fall Retreat, where we will hear teaching and grow spiritually, build community, experience rich fellowship, share meals, and have lots of fun! All ages are encouraged to attend and will have a place to engage during age-specific breakouts. You’ll have opportunities to play games, eat a s’more around the campfire, chat with old friends and get to know new ones!
The camp is just one hour away, and transportation can be provided if needed. The cost is $25 for an individual and $50 for couples and families, which covers housing, food, and activities for the weekend. We’ll even be back in time for church on Sunday! See Jordyn Skacel, Holly Crumrine, or Vicky Albert with questions. Registration information is on the table in the foyer.

Giving Opportunities
Designated giving funds are open for the deaconess compassion fund to help those in need within our church family, as well as Missionary Christmas. Please mark your gifts and drop them in the offering plate.

Offering
Thank you for continuing to support our ministries and missionaries. The offering plates are available at the back of the auditorium. Gifts can also be mailed to the church or given electronically through your bank’s bill pay program or through online platforms: PayPal and Venmo. Our account address is churchoffice@lansefree.org. Church Office
Our church office is open every week, Tuesday – Friday from 8:45am – 2:15pm. You can reach Jenni in the office by phone (814-345-6500) or email at churchoffice@lansefree.org. If you would like information to be in next week’s bulletin, please have it in by 1:00pm Thursday. Last minute prayer requests need to be submitted to the office by 9:00am on Friday.

Director of Family Ministry
Jordyn Skacel serves as our Director of Family Ministry. She is happy to meet with you at the church, in her home, in your home, or in public, with or without kids! Catch her at church or contact her via phone, text, or email, (814) 592-9280 or families@lansefree.org to schedule a time to meet. She’d love to hear your ideas, how you’d like to be involved, and to be a resource for your family.

Snack and Yack
When the auditorium empties after worship, young people in grades 3-7 who heard the sermon are invited to meet in Pastor Matt’s office for a snack and a brief interactive conversation about today’s message. To help kids listen closely, they can fill out a “Snack n’ Yack Notes” handouts that are in the foyer. Parents are always welcome to join in, too! Leading this week is Abe & Jordyn Skacel.

Ladies’ Fellowship Hour
Ladies, join us on Wednesday mornings at 10:30am for a time of fellowship with one another, praying for one another and missionaries, and reading Scripture. All ladies are invited to attend.

Join Us at Prayer Meeting
Each Wednesday at 7:00pm, a group of Christians meet to pray and to study God’s Word in the Prayer Room. We are going through a study of the book of Psalms. Nobody is put on the spot to pray out loud, but all are encouraged to attend and help lift up the needs of our church, community, nation, and world.

Community Group
The community group meets Sunday evenings at 7:00pm in the Skacel home for fellowship and Bible study. People of all ages are welcome (including kids!). See Abe or Jordyn Skacel if you want to check it out!

Explore the Bible at Home
Many adults in our church are utilizing the Explore the Bible resources to dig deeper into God’s Word. Pick up your free copy of Acts 13-28 and join as we study this week with Session 2: The Task. The Fall quarter resources are available in the foyer.

This Week in Kids Bible Class
God Rules Over Creation. Today, the Little Learners and Bible Explorers will be studying Genesis 2-3 learning about how Sin Entered the World. Resources for family worship centered on this lesson are available through the link you will receive in “The Family Table” email arriving this afternoon. For more information about this week’s lesson, check out The Gospel Project Big Picture Card for Volume 1, Unit 1, Session 2 which your family received in your mailbox.
