Church Family News

Happy Mother’s Day!
Praise the Lord for our mothers! Take a moment to thank those who have given you life and nurtured your faith. On this Mother’s Day, we are celebrating all women. Ladies, be sure to receive your gift after the service today.

Softball Tournament Deadline
Jenni still needs a few more players for the softball tournament on June 1^st. An information sheet with location, time, rules, etc. is on the table in the foyer next to the sign-up sheet. We need all players to be committed by Wednesday, May 15^th so we can register. If you have any questions, please see Jenni English.

Challenge x Church Clean Out
There is a church-wide cleanout happening! If you are in a position of leadership, you have probably already been contacted about your team’s area of concern. And for anyone else in the church who would like to do a personal “clean out”, the Challenge team is accepting donations to bless other households.
All donations of small goods (no clothes or furniture, please) are requested to be submitted by Thursday, May 16^th to the former Mops room, across from the fellowship hall. The Challenge team will sort and organize, and the FREE thrift shop will have its grand opening after church on Sunday, May 19^th. The Challenge team will take over coffee ministry and have some baked goods to take home as well. Plan to stay and check out all we have available to take home with you.

FBW Volunteer Meeting
There will be a short meeting in the sanctuary next Sunday, May 19^th following the worship service for those who have already volunteered and any others who would like to help during this year’s Family Bible Week. Family Bible Week is scheduled for July 22^nd-25^th with the Finale on July 28^th. See Vicky Albert with any questions or to join the 2024 team of volunteers!

Explore The Bible At Home
Many adults in our church are utilizing the Explore the Bible resources to dig deeper into God’s Word. Pick up your free copy of Acts 1-12  and join as we study this through the Summer Quarter, which is starting in June. These booklets are available in the foyer.

Our Daily Bread
The smaller print copies of Our Daily Bread for June, July and August are available in the foyer and by the Community Bulletin Board. Large print copies for July, August, and September will be available in a few weeks.

Coffee Volunteers
Cody & Holly are looking for a few more volunteers to help with coffee on Sunday mornings after service. If you are interested in helping, please let the Crumrines or Jenni know and we will get you on the schedule!

Greeting Ministry Update
The greeting team is pleased to welcome Katie Kerlin onto the team, replacing Jordyn Skacel. Katie will lead alongside Haylee Simler. Now is a great time to consider becoming a greeter on Sunday mornings. You’d be a friendly, welcoming face to those joining us on Sundays. You could expect to serve once or twice a quarter. See Haylee or Katie to get involved!

Graduation Sunday on May 26^th
Every year we set aside some time to honor those in our church family who have graduated from high school, college, or graduate school. Are you completing any type of schooling during the 2023-2024 school year? Stop by the table in the foyer and pick up a Graduation Info Sheet and return to Jenni English by next Sunday, May 19^th so that we can include you in our celebration.

Giving Opportunities
Designated giving funds are open for Challenge Conference, Malawi trip, summer camp, deaconess compassion fund to help those in need within our church family, and a future pavilion for the Ark Park here at the church. Please mark your gifts and drop them in the offering plate.

Offering
Thank you for continuing to support our ministries and missionaries. The offering plates are available at the back of the auditorium. Gifts can also be mailed to the church or given electronically through your bank’s bill pay program or through online platforms: PayPal and Venmo. Our account address is churchoffice@lansefree.org. Church Office
Our church office is open every week, Tuesday – Friday from 9-3. You can reach Jenni in the office by phone (814-345-6500), or email at churchoffice@lansefree.org. If you would like information to be in next week’s bulletin, please have it in by 1:00pm Thursday. Last minute prayer requests need to be submitted to the office by 9:00am on Friday.

Snack and Yack
When the auditorium empties after worship, young people in grades 3-7 who heard the sermon are invited to meet in Pastor Matt’s office for a snack and a brief interactive conversation about today’s message. To help kids listen closely, they can fill out a “Snack n’ Yack Notes” handouts that are in the foyer. Parents are always welcome to join in, too! Leading this week is Cody & Holly Crumrine.

Ladies’ Fellowship Hour
Ladies, join us on Wednesday mornings at 10:30am for a time of fellowship with one another, praying for one another and missionaries, reading Scripture, and enjoying occasional snacks. All ladies are invited to attend.

Join Us at Prayer Meeting
Each Wednesday at 7:00pm, a group of Christians meet to pray and to study God’s Word in the Prayer Room. We are going through a study of the book of Psalms. Nobody is put on the spot to pray out loud, but all are encouraged to attend and help lift up the needs of our church, community, nation, and world.

Community Group
The community group meets Sunday evenings at 7:00pm in the Skacel home for fellowship and Bible study. People of all ages are welcome (including kids!). See Abe or Jordyn Skacel if you want to check it out!

Explore the Bible at Home
Many adults in our church are utilizing the Explore the Bible resources to dig deeper into God’s Word. Pick up your free copy of Genesis 20-50 and join as we study this week with Session 11: Revealed. The Spring quarter resources are available in the foyer.

This Week in Kids Bible Class
Who can be saved? Anyone who trusts in Jesus is saved. Today, the Little Learners and Bible Explorers will be studying Acts 9 learning about how Paul Became a Christian. Resources for family worship centered on this lesson are available through the link you will receive in “The Family Table” email arriving this afternoon. For more information about this week’s lesson, check out The Gospel Project Big Picture Card for Volume 11, Unit 33, Session 1 which your family received in your mailbox.
