From the Pastor

Dear Church Family,

I’m entirely happy that Family Bible Week is here again!

Each year our entire church family sets aside an entire week to delve more deeply into the entire truth of the Scriptures. I’m glad that this time around we get to really emphasize ministry to the children and youth of our church family. I’m praying that this is a truly formative week for the young disciples in our midst.

Misty Michaels and her team have transformed our campus into a construction site where every child, teen, and adult can build their knowledge of the Bible. I’m looking forward to each evening (Mon-Thur, 6:30pm) and especially the finale and picnic next Sunday (10:30am)!

I love the theme of FBW this year because it reminds me that, as followers of Jesus, we are all a-work-in-progress. We are not entirely what we will be, but we are entirely on our way, and Jesus has guaranteed to finish the entire job in His good timing (Philippians 1:6).

May the Lord bless our entire church family as we seek Him together this week.

In His Grip,

– Pastor Matt

P.S. I love loud singing about Jesus with a bunch of kids. He’s the “King of Kings and the Lord of Lord” and that’s worth waving our arms and shouting about!!!

Family Bible Week News

Family Bible Week Registration

Stop by the table in the foyer today and register your family for Family Bible Week. All kids registering today will receive a registration gift.

Family Bible Week Finale – Outdoor Service

Join us on July 25th for our FBW Finale. This will be an outdoor service on the Ark Park side with the tent. Bring your lawn chairs and portable shade and join us as we cap off our Family Bible Week with worship. The kids will be invited to the 5th lesson during the service. In the event of rain, the service will move indoors.

Family Bible Week Finale Picnic

Be sure to turn in your RSVP sheet today for our FBW finale picnic next Sunday immediately following our Worship time. The Hospitality team will be providing meatball subs and drinks for the meal and need to get an idea of how many will be joining us. They  are also asking for side dishes, salads, fruit, and desserts. Extra RSVP sheets are in the foyer and can be dropped in the offering plates or returned to the small box outside the office. Join us for our first full fellowship meal since January 2020.

FBW Youth Class – Building Bible Knowledge

Calling all 7-12 graders! Pastor Matt will be leading the youth class this year in how to study the Bible for yourself. Bring your own Bible to lay a strong foundation for your faith. See Pastor Matt with any questions.

Disciples Under Construction

Calling all adults: Mark your calendar and join us for Family Bible Week!  Kerry Doyal, our Allegheny District Superintendent, will be teaching classes Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evening. Spend some time learning how to be a disciple, who makes disciples, who make disciples.

Good News Cruise 2021

Good News Cruise 2021 is just around the corner, and we are looking for a bunch of people willing to work just a few hours helping us spread the GOOD NEWS! We do that so many ways: You can help by registering our guests, parking cars, helping stock our food and coffee tables, or simply roaming around and greeting people that day. Our cruise is all about people, not just their cars! We want to be sure to focus on the guests to our church campus and begin building relationships with as many of them as possible. Sign-up sheets will be posted later this week. Pray about how you would best be able to support this opportunity to reach people in our community for Christ and be prepared to sign up on Sunday.

Door Prize Donations & Sweet Treats

An easy way to help with our Good News Cruise is to support our door prize donations. You can either go out and buy some car-related items or make a donation to the church and we will purchase these give-away items. Another way to help is through a “Sweet Treat.” This year we are providing soda/water/coffee, prepackaged chips, and baked goods. If you are willing to bake something sweet for this year’s event, please sign up in the foyer. We ask that all items arrive pre-packaged (think bake sale) so we can set them on the table for self service grab-and-go. Thanks!

Coffee Ministry

Thank you to the new people who have stepped up to help with this ministry. It is not too late for you to be added to the rotation this Fall. The commitment would be for one Sunday every four to six weeks and includes set-up and clean-up. If you want to know more about this opportunity to serve, please talk with Cody or Holly Crumrine.

Children’s Church

All children (ages 3 – 3rd grade) are invited to Children’s Church during our 10:30 worship time. When the weather allows the children will meet in the Sonshine tent or in our back yard. Parents, when indicated in the service, please drop your kids off with a volunteer in the ABC Room or bring them around to the backyard/Sonshine tent. All ministry workers have their child protection clearances.

Follow the Lord in Water Baptism

We are planning a baptism service for August/September. If you would like to learn more about what it means to follow Christ in water baptism, talk to Pastor Matt for options that fit your schedule. Classes will be set up to meet individual scheduling needs.

Offering

Thank you for continuing to support our ministries and missionaries. The offering plates are available at the back of the auditorium. Gifts can still be mailed to the church or give electronically through online platforms like PayPal and Venmo. Our account address is churchoffice@lansefree.org. Questions? Contact Marilynn.

Designated Giving

Thank you for your generous giving. Two designated giving funds remain open here at church. To give to a future picnic pavilion, mark your gift “pavilion” and placing it in the offering. To give to the rebuilding efforts following the fire at Miracle Mountain Ranch’s Fort Wilderness, mark your gift “MMR Fire.”

Family Fridays @ CSA

Christian Servant Academy invites you to Family Fridays. Each Friday at 6:30 they are hosting an evening of family-focused fun. Check out their flyer on the Community Bulletin Board for more information.
