The wait is over! Christmas has come. Even if it was different this year, I hope your Christmas was full of real joy, wonder, and love. I also hope you set aside time to think about the birth of Christ.
In this weekend’s video message, Joel Michaels takes us back through that familiar story and focuses on what the angel said to the shepherds. I look forward to studying it with my family this Sunday morning.
Often the worst part of waiting is not knowing how long the wait will be. Anticipation dies down and despair sets in. And the last bit is often the hardest. It’s darkest right before dawn, especially when you don’t have a device telling you exactly when dawn will come.
The best part of waiting is anticipation of the good stuff that’s coming at the end of the waiting. We get joy from wondering what exactly is in that wrapped gift under the tree. We look forward to the day when COVID-19 is eradicated. We dream of the Sunday we all gather together once more at the same time and the same place. Anticipation of blessing makes it worth the wait.
