Title: Administrative Assistant, Part-Time
Reports To: Pastor
Exempt Status: Non-Exempt (hourly)
Purpose of Position
To aid the ministry staff and church family to achieve our purpose by providing informational, organizational, and clerical assistance.
Work Schedule
Flexible Daytime Weekday Schedule. 18-24 Hours Weekly. Additional hours as needed and approved, not to exceed 40 hours weekly. Hours worked will be recorded and submitted to the Church Treasurer on a bi-weekly basis.
Major Areas of Responsibility
1. Act as Church Receptionist
2. Create, Produce, & Distribute Church Communications
3. Provide Administrative Support to the Pastoral Staff & Ministry Leadership
4. Manage the Church Office, Systems, and Supplies
5. Other Duties As Assigned
Qualifications
• A growing relationship with Jesus Christ and Christian character
• A biblical world-view and a basic understanding of Christian ministry
• Strong people skills and a ministry mindset (yet be able to work well on their own)
• A commitment to being a “core group member” of LEFC (basic agreement with our purpose, vision, doctrine, and philosophy of ministry)
• Effective computer skills and an eye for graphical layout (ex. Microsoft Office, website and social media account maintenance, worship presentation, church management software, audio and video editing applications, etc.)
• Proven ability in organization, accuracy, flexibility, and multitasking
• The ability to anticipate needs and initiate solutions
• Strong communication skills (listening, oral, and especially written communication)
• Proven ability to handle confidential information with integrity
• A servant's heart and attitude Education and Experience Requirements High School Diploma with either additional education or experience in an administrative assistant role.
Evaluation
The Administrative Assistant will pursue excellence in his/her ministry at LEFC and continually seek to improve herself/himself as a Christian and a professional engaged in Christian ministry. The Administrative Assistant’s performance will be evaluated yearly in writing by the Pastor. This report will be personally reviewed with him/her. It will also be submitted to the church board for review along with any recommendations concerning salary changes.
Remuneration
The pay for this position will be hourly commensurate with current staff and agreed upon by both the church board and the Administrative Assistant. The hourly rate is negotiable based upon the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
Vacation & Time Off
Vacation and Time Off are negotiable items to be agreed upon by both the church board and the Administrative Assistant.
