TFT: Journey Through Holy Week
April 13, 2025
Dear LEFC Parents,
Easter is almost here! We encourage you to cultivate an excitement in your home this week for the celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus! We eagerly anticipate celebrating with you on Sunday.
Easter Egg Hunt: This Saturday!
The Easter Egg Hunt is this Saturday! We want your kids and the community to have a great time hunting eggs, but we ultimately want them to hear the message of Jesus, what Easter is all about! Consider inviting your child’s classmates, friends, and teammates to join us on Saturday and to come back on Sunday morning!
Save the Date for Family Night
Our next family night will be June 6th. Save the date! Keep an eye out for more details coming soon!
Family Bible Week : Magnified!
Is your family getting excited for Family Bible Week in just three months? This year’s theme is Magnified: Discovering the Bigness of God in the Smallest of Things. Check out the Lifeway playlist for the theme!
Join us for Mom’s Night Out!
On Friday May 16th, moms with children in the home are invited to the church for a Mom’s Night Out! Come at 6:00 to enjoy time out of the house in community with fellow moms. We’ll have fun with various activities, chatting, and plenty of snacks and desserts! Mark your calendars now to attend, and don’t forget to invite fellow mom friends to come with you. Dads, as part of your Mother’s Day gift to mom, consider offering to watch the kids so she can participate! We’re asking moms to register here so we can plan for food and activities. Nursing infants are welcome. We hope you’ll join us!
“Deborah Led Israel” Kids Bible Class Devotional
You have free access to a family devotional based on the curriculum our kids are studying each week in KBC! It’s called “The Gospel Project at Home.” Today’s Bible Study is “Deborah Led Israel” (Volume 3: Unit 8: Session 2), and the devotional can be found at this link.
Visit the Family Ministries page on our website for information about how to access The Gospel Project at Home for the first time.
And for Dessert…
This week’s recommendation for family discipleship is an interactive devotional to walk with your kids through the crucial events of Passion Week.
Today is Palm Sunday when we remember Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem. This coming Friday is Good Friday when we remember Jesus’ crucifixion and burial. A week from now is Resurrection Sunday when Jesus rose from the tomb.
Do you and your kids know what happened on the other five days of that monumental week?
The folks at ChildDiscipleship.com (a ministry of Awana International) have created a free and easy-to-do resource for families to go deeper into Jesus’s most consequential week of earthly ministry
A Journey Through Holy Week includes daily Bible readings, hands-on activities (printable coloring pages and cut-out puppets), and an audio option in partnership with “Dwell” to understand Jesus’ journey to the cross and resurrection. (Requires an email address to receive the download).
Perhaps the best part is that every day includes 5 questions to “Wonder Together” about what Jesus did and said on each day. Today’s Palm Sunday questions are:
› What do you know about the Roman Empire?
› How do you think it would feel to declare that Jesus was your king if your country already had a powerful king?
› The Roman Empire used violence to create “peace.” How was Jesus’ kingdom going to be different?
› How would you answer the question, “Who is this?”
› How can you follow Jesus as your king today, in your country?
The entire devotional for each day fits on a single page and ends with a prayer that Dad, Mom, or an older child can lead the whole family in praying.
We hope your family eats it right up.

P.S. Do you as a parent want to go deeper yourself into the events and meaning of Holy Week? You might want to utilize the Final Days of Jesus Course at The Gospel Coalition. This free course provides scripture readings, explanatory videos, and supplemental resources for each day of Passion Week. Teens would also profit from clicking through each step.
