The Question and the Promise – 10 March 2019

The Gospel of Matthew is a theological biography. And the key question of any biography is WHO, right? For the last several months, we’ve said, “In the Gospel of Matthew, you’ve got to keep your eye on the ball. And the ball is the question of Jesus’ identity. Who is this Person?” We’ve seen that again and again.

Well, this time, Jesus flat out asks the question Himself! “Who do you say I am?” Peter answers it well. Jesus is the Christ, the son of the Living God – So build your life on its truth.  Jesus then promises that he will build his church.
