The Birth of Jesus Christ – 17 December 2017

We’ve begun a multi-month, maybe multi-year, journey together through the Gospel of Matthew. This theological biography of the most important person who has ever lived–the Lord Jesus Christ. Last week, we looked closely at his genealogy. Which was a lot more interesting than someone might think at first. It turned out that his genealogy revealed his identity. It was like a form of ID that the first readers of this gospel would have considered valid and interesting.

Today we look at his birth and the two names given to him: Jesus and Immanuel. We are reminded that we are not alone, so we should not b afraid, we are not abandoned, and therefore are not ashamed.

Pastor Matt preaching on Matthew 1:18-25.
