Feeding the Faith of LEFC Families
The Family Table – January 1, 2023
January 1, 2023
Dear LEFC Parents,
Happy New Year!
I pray that 2023 will be a year of wonderful spiritual growth for you and your family. It’s a privilege to come alongside you as you try to impress God’s Word on the hearts and minds of your kids. Please let us know how LEFC Family Ministries can better help you to make disciples in your home in the coming year.
The Gospel Project at Home
Today, our Children’s Church continued their Bible study in The Gospel Project with Volume 3, Unit 9, Lesson 2 – “God Used Samson.” Follow this link to find resources for a family devotional time based on this lesson. [Free one-time registration required.]
If your student was in Little Learners or Bible Explorers this morning, they received a coloring page and take-home sheet that corresponds to this lesson. You have also been given a full-color Big Picture Card that you can use to reinforce the lesson with your child, as well.
Worldview Training for Youth
“Ideas Have Consequences.” Keith Hurley and his team are continuing to offer a worldview training class for youth (grades 7-12) in the upstairs Youth Room every other Sunday evening at 7:00pm. The class starts again on January 8th. Parents are always invited to participate, too!
And for Dessert…
This week’s recommended resource is a room at church–the library!
When was the last time you and your kids checked out a book from the church library? We have lots of really good books for kids of all ages. Heather Mitchell regularly orders new materials: picture books, Bible story books, devotionals, biographies, graphic novels, adventure stories, and a whole lot more aimed at feeding the faith of the next generation. We also have books on Christian parenting and answers to questions that many people have. And it’s all free!
Here’s an idea: Take home books that you think you might order your own copy of as a test-run.
The library is open whenever the church doors are unlocked. The checkout system is very simple–just put your name on the card and drop it in the box. Return the books when your family is done with them by placing them in the basket. The entire catalog is also online! Check now to see if the book you are looking for is in our holdings. Let Heather know if you want to suggest the church purchase a particular new book. The church library is an under-used asset for family discipleship. I hope your family eats it up.
Blessings,
Pastor Matt
