The Even Worse News 12 October 2014

After a few weeks off, we return to our sermon series, All Roads Lead to Romans, and Paul is unpacking the bad news for us. While this is not fun, it is true and necessary to completely grasp how good the good news is for us. The even worse news? 1. Being “pretty good” is not enough to escape the wrath of God. 2. Having the Law is not enough to escape the wrath of God. and 3. Being a Jew is not enough to escape the wrath of God. So what do we do with this information? 1. Stop passing judgement, 2. Stop relying on our behavior or your birthright, and 3. Trust fully in Christ alone.
