TFT: Stay Sharp!
February 5, 2023
Dear LEFC Parents,
Here’s some fuel for your family’s faith this week:
Worldview Training for Youth
Tonight, the youth class starts learning, TACTICS: A Game Plan for Discussing Your Christian Convictions. It starts at 7pm upstairs in the Youth Room. Catch this: To maximize the learning of this new curriculum, this class is now going to meet every Sunday evening between now and Easter. See Keith Hurley with questions.
The Gospel Project at Home
Today’s Bible Study: “Israel Demanded a King” (Volume 3, Unit 10, Lesson 1). Gather up your family and get into 1 Samuel 8–10 together!
And for Dessert…
This week’s resource for family discipleship is a free conference–Stay Sharp 2023!
Every year, our Allegheny District provides a 24-hour theology training time with Greg Strand, and our church has a big group gathering to go. In the past, several of our younger parents have participated. Stay Sharp is a great way to sharpen your own thinking about who God is and what He’s up to in this world, which prepares you to teach it to your kids. While Stay Sharp is not designed for children, several churches (including ours!) have brought teenagers along who have gotten a lot out of the experience. Consider pulling your high schooler out of school for two days to take them deeper in their understanding of God’s Word.
This year’s timely theme is “Ecclesiology! What is a Church and Why Does That Matter?” The only cost is travel expenses to Canonsburg and one night in a hotel ($45/person). We have scholarship monies for those whom this is a hardship.
