Feeding the Faith of LEFC Families
TFT: Really Radical!
March 12, 2023
Dear LEFC Parents,
Reminders for the week ahead:
Snack and Yack
Today was the second Sunday for this new ministry designed for young people (approximately grades 3-7) to discuss the sermon with Pastor Matt or one of the other elders after church. We’re going to have “Snack and Yack” every Sunday in March during the “coffee fellowship” time in Pastor Matt’s office. To help kids listen closely, Holly has created a handout for them to fill out during the message. Make sure your kids get one of those each week! Also, parents are always welcome to join in, as well. This is a family ministry.
The Gospel Project at Home
Today’s Bible Study is “David Fought Goliath” (Volume 3, Unit 11, Session 2). Ask your kids what they learned about that in children’s church this morning and/or do the family devotional you can find at this link.
Worldview Training for Youth
Youth group meets again tonight at 7pm! Send (or bring) your teen for a game, lesson, and hang-out time with Keith Hurley, his team, and some other teens.
And for Dessert…
Our family discipleship resource of the week is a brand new book by Pastor Matt’s friend Champ Thornton. It’s called The Really Radical Book for Kids: More Truth, More Fun.
It’s a sequel to Champ’s original, The Radical Book for Kids: Exploring the Roots and Shoots of Faith which also isn’t quite like any other Christian book out there for kids ages 8-12. Pastor Matt interviewed Champ when the first one came out and also fed ideas to him for this follow-up book.
These “radical” books are great for our “Snack and Yack” age kids. Full of engaging four-page chapters on fascinating subjects and questions that Christian kids have, Champ’s books are beautifully designed, colorful, playful, easily accessible, and endlessly interesting for older grade-school and middle-school kids. (Grown-ups enjoy them, too.)
WTSBooks has the new book at deep discounts this weekend, and we also have both books in our church library.
We hope your family eats it up.
