Church Family News

  • Fall Feast & Meeting: Everyone, please stay to enjoy the fall feast with your church family in the Fellowship Hall today. Members, don’t forget about the meeting afterwards.
  • Operation Christmas Child: Our church is participating in Operation Christmas Child. The shoeboxes are in the foyer and will need to be returned to the church by Sunday, November 8th. Each box will cost $10 to ship. If you are interested in sponsoring one or more of the shoeboxes, mark your donation “Shoeboxes.” Questions? See Mary Beth Moslak.
  • Trunk or Treat Volunteers: Wednesday, October 28th West Branch is having their Trunk or Treat. Setup is at 5:30pm and the event is from 6-8:00pm. Glow sticks and fliers for hand out are provided. See Keith Hurley if you want to join the team.
  • Time Change: Next Sunday, November 1 we go from Daylight Savings to Standard Time, so don’t forget to change your clocks.
  • Upcoming Baptism Classes: Want to know more about baptism? Pastor Matt will be teaching a two-part class next month at 8:30 on Sunday mornings (Part A – November 1st, Part B – November 8th). Learn more about what the Bible says about water baptism and how we practice it at LEFC. See Pastor Matt to join in.
  • Membership Seminar: What does it mean to be a member at LEFC? On November 14th from 9-11:30am we are holding a membership seminar here at the church for anyone interested. See Pastor Matt in you are interested in attending.
  • Church Family Budget Meeting: The annual budget meeting will be Tuesday, November 17th at 6:00pm. All interested people are invited to join the Elder Board and help make the budget plans for 2027. Leaders of ministries and committees who use church funds are asked to bring or send along their ministry’s needs and recommendations to this meeting. See Cody Crumrine if you have any questions. 
  • Giving Tree Signup: Sign up day for families to get on the Giving Tree is Monday, November 2 from 4-6:00pm at Forest Baptist Church. For more info call Penny Shadeck at 814-761-1723.

Growing Together

  • LEFC Roots  (Grades 4–6) Sundays @ 6:30pm  — New for youth in grades 4-6. See Curtis Quick or Marilynn Kristofits for questions.

  • Youth Group (Grades 7–12) Sundays @ 6:30pm  — For students grades 7 and up. Runs 10 weeks. For more information, see Cody & Holly Crumrine.

  • Adult Class Sundays @ 6:30pm — Meets in the Fellowship Hall. Currently studying the EFCA Statement of Faith. For more information, see Keith Hurley.

  • Ladies’ Fellowship Hour Wednesdays @ 10:30am — Join us for a time of fellowship, praying for one another and missionaries, and reading Scripture.

  • Prayer Meeting Wednesdays @ 7:00pm — Meets in the Prayer Room to pray and study God’s Word (currently studying Judges). Nobody is put on the spot to pray out loud, and all are encouraged to attend.

  • Explore the Bible at Home: Many adults in our church are utilizing the Explore the Bible resources to dig deeper into God’s Word. Pick up your free copy of Romans in the foyer and join us as we study Session 8: Believe*.

  • This Week in Kids Bible Class: Today, the Little Learners and Bible Explorers will study John 11 (Jesus Raised Lazarus). Resources for family worship arrive in “The Family Table” email this afternoon. Check your child’s Gospel Project Big Picture Card sent home today. Questions or need access?   • Designated Giving Opportunities: Open funds include the Deaconess Compassion Fund (local church family needs), Summer Camp (registration fees), and future updates to the Ark Park Pavilion. Please mark your gifts clearly and drop them in the offering plate.
