Church Family News

  • Guest Preacher: Our guest preacher today is Peter Bors. He’s one of our supported missionaries serving with ReachGlobal Crisis Response. Please take a moment to greet Peter and thank him for being here with us.
  • Operation Christmas Child: Our church is participating in Operation Christmas Child, sponsored by Samaritan’s Purse. The shoeboxes are in the foyer and will need to be returned to the church by Sunday, November 8th. Each box will cost $10 to ship. If you are interested in sponsoring one or more of the shoeboxes, mark your donation “Shoeboxes.” Questions? See Mary Beth Moslak.
  • Parking Lot Paving: Our parking lot will be paved on Monday October 19th. Please be aware of the entrance change.
  • Church Family Fall Feast!: Bring your favorite soups and chilis, apple pies and pumpkin rolls (or any other dessert you love) to share with your church family for lunch after the service on October 25th. Come, everyone, and enjoy the feast and the fellowship!
  • Church Family Meeting: Sunday, October 25th is our next quarterly church family meeting. Members, plan to stay after the fellowship meal. See Church Chairman Cody Crumrine with any questions.
  • Trunk or Treat Volunteers Needed: Looking for a way to serve? Wednesday, October 28th West Branch is having their Trunk or Treat and invited us to participate. Setup is at 5:30pm and the event is from 6-8:00pm. Glow sticks and fliers for hand out are provided. See Jordyn Skacel or Keith Hurley if you have any questions.
  • Giving Tree Signup: Sign up day for families to get on the Giving Tree is Monday, November 2 from 4-6:00pm at Forest Baptist Church. For more info call Penny Shadeck at 814-761-1723.
  • Upcoming Baptism Classes: Want to know more about baptism? Pastor Matt will be teaching a two-part class next month at 8:30 on Sunday mornings (Part A – November 1st, Part B – November 8th). Learn more about what the Bible says about water baptism and how we practice it at LEFC. See Pastor Matt to join in.

Growing Together

  • LEFC Roots  (Grades 4–6) Sundays @ 6:30pm  — New for youth in grades 4-6. See Curtis Quick or Marilynn Kristofits for questions.

  • Youth Group (Grades 7–12) Sundays @ 6:30pm  — For students grades 7 and up. Runs 10 weeks. For more information, see Cody & Holly Crumrine.

  • Adult Class Sundays @ 6:30pm — Meets in the Fellowship Hall. Currently studying the EFCA Statement of Faith. For more information, see Keith Hurley.

  • Ladies’ Fellowship Hour Wednesdays @ 10:30am — Join us for a time of fellowship, praying for one another and missionaries, and reading Scripture.

  • Prayer Meeting Wednesdays @ 7:00pm — Meets in the Prayer Room to pray and study God’s Word (currently studying Judges). Nobody is put on the spot to pray out loud, and all are encouraged to attend.

  • Explore the Bible at Home: Many adults in our church are utilizing the Explore the Bible resources to dig deeper into God’s Word. Pick up your free copy of Romans in the foyer and join us as we study Session 7: Indwelt.

  • This Week in Kids Bible Class: Today, the Little Learners and Bible Explorers will study Matthew 15, Mark 7 (Jesus Healed a Child and a Man). Resources for family worship arrive in “The Family Table” email this afternoon. Check your child’s Gospel Project Big Picture Card sent home today. Questions or need access?
