Church Family News

Communion Sunday
Today we will be passing communion plates for those partaking in the auditorium. There are pre-packaged communion elements for anyone, inside or outside, who would prefer to use them as we worship together at the Lord’s Table. We have a gluten free option for those with special dietary needs.

Hoagie Pickup
Tomorrow, May 6th the Troy’s Hoagies will be available for pick up at the Church in the fellowship hall after 3:00pm.  If you cannot make it to the church to pick up on the 6th, please let Keith, Mary Beth, or Steph know so we can make arrangements.  The Malawi mission team would like to thank all those who ordered, for their support.

Greeting Ministry Update
The greeting team is pleased to welcome Katie Kerlin as a coordinator onto the team, replacing Jordyn Skacel. Katie will lead alongside Haylee Simler. Now is a great time to consider becoming a greeter on Sunday mornings. You’d be a friendly, welcoming face to those joining us on Sundays. You could expect to serve once or twice a quarter. See Haylee or Katie to get involved!

Graduation Sunday on May 26th
Every year we set aside some time to honor those in our church family who have graduated from high school, college, or graduate school. Are you completing any type of schooling during the 2023-2024 school year? Stop by the table in the foyer and pick up a Graduation Info Sheet and return to Jenni English by May 19th so that we can include you in our celebration.

Interested In Playing Softball?
Jenni English is looking to put together a team within the church to play in a slow-pitch wood-bat softball co-ed tournament with other churches. The tournament will take place on June 1st with a rain date of June 8th. The cost would be $10 per person, however there will be scholarships available if needed. You must have completed 9th grade to be eligible to play. The tournament will benefit the gFree church youth group going to summer camp. There is a sign-up sheet on the table in the foyer or you can let Jenni know. We need all players to be committed by May 15th so we can register. If you have any questions, please see Jenni English.

Parents of Children in KBC
Due to the growth of the kid’s bible classes and several new teachers, we are asking parents to complete the form in your mailbox for each child that may already be going or possibly interested in going to classes. You do not need to fill out a form for your child(ren) to keep attending classes. This is simply for general information, so teachers are aware of any allergies and have contact information, etc. Please place the forms in either Vicky Albert’s or Jenni English’s mailboxes.

Giving Opportunities
Designated giving funds are open for Challenge Conference, Malawi trip, summer camp, deaconess compassion fund to help those in need within our church family, and a future pavilion for the Ark Park here at the church. Please mark your gifts and drop them in the offering plate.

Offering
Thank you for continuing to support our ministries and missionaries. The offering plates are available at the back of the auditorium. Gifts can also be mailed to the church or given electronically through your bank’s bill pay program or through online platforms: PayPal and Venmo. Our account address is churchoffice@lansefree.org. Questions? Contact Jenni English.

Snack and Yack
When the auditorium empties after worship, young people in grades 3-7 who heard the sermon are invited to meet in Pastor Matt’s office for a snack and a brief interactive conversation about today’s message. To help kids listen closely, they can fill out a “Snack n’ Yack Notes” handouts that are in the foyer. Parents are always welcome to join in, too! Leading this week is Joel & Misty Michaels.

Ladies’ Fellowship Hour
Ladies, join us on Wednesday mornings at 10:30am for a time of fellowship with one another, praying for one another and missionaries, reading Scripture, and enjoying occasional snacks. All ladies are invited to attend.

Join Us at Prayer Meeting
Each Wednesday at 7:00pm, a group of Christians meet to pray and to study God’s Word in the Prayer Room. We are going through a study of the book of Psalms. Nobody is put on the spot to pray out loud, but all are encouraged to attend and help lift up the needs of our church, community, nation, and world.

Community Group
There is NO community group this evening. It will resume next Sunday evening as usual.

Explore the Bible at Home
Many adults in our church are utilizing the Explore the Bible resources to dig deeper into God’s Word. Pick up your free copy of Genesis 20-50 and join as we study this week with Session 10: Accused. The Spring quarter resources are available in the foyer.

This Week in Kids Bible Class
What is the church? The church is all Christians everywhere. Today, the Little Learners and Bible Explorers will be studying 1 Corinthians 12 learning about how We Are Part of One Church. Resources for family worship centered on this lesson are available through the link you will receive in “The Family Table” email arriving this afternoon. For more information about this week’s lesson, check out The Gospel Project Big Picture Card for Volume 11, Unit 32, Session 5 which your family received in your mailbox.
