Special Meeting: Director of Family Ministry
The LEFC Elders are pleased to present Jordyn Skacel to the congregation to be our first Director of Family Ministry. An active member of LEFC, Jordyn has been a part of the West Branch Community for her whole life and is an honors graduate of Penn State University. For the last seven years, she has been serving as a missionary with Cru, along with her husband Abe, making disciples for Jesus at PSU. She the mother of Spurgeon, Wilson, and a baby due in December. Jordyn has been volunteering as a leader on the Family Ministries Team since November of 2023.
All LEFC members are encouraged to attend a special meeting after the worship service today to hear more and make a decision together on hiring Jordyn for this new part-time ministry staff position.

KBC Teachers/Helpers Lunch Meeting
KBC Teachers and Helpers will be meeting Sunday, September 15th from Noon-2:00pm for a time of fellowship, training, planning and prayer. LUNCH will be provided. Please RSVP if you are or are not able to attend by September 8th. Please see Vicky Albert with any questions.

KBC Classes Updates
Our KBC classes will be starting a new curriculum on September 1st. Little Learners are age 3 to Kindergarten. Bible Explorers are 1st grade to 3rd/4th grade. Please make sure your child/children are going to the appropriate classes. If you have any questions, please see Vicky Albert.

Baptism Classes
Pastor Matt is offering a new class on baptism, 8:30-9:30am August 25th (Part A) and September 1st (Part B). Learn all about the theology and practice of water baptism at LEFC! See Pastor Matt for more details.

Interested In Helping The Deaconesses In Making Meals?
The Deaconesses are looking for some extra hands to help provide meals for people in need in the church family when coming home from the hospital, having a baby, etc. If you are interested in helping or wanting to know more, please see Renee Mostyn. You can reach her at (814) 553-5490.

You Matter 5K & 10Mile Ride
The Pregnancy Resource Clinic will be hosting their annual 5k walk/run and 10 Mile bicycle ride on Saturday, September 28th. For more information visit their website scprc.com.

Heading Off to College?
When you get your housing information, be sure to pass your address along to the church office so that our church family can be an encouragement to you this school year.

Operation Christmas Child
Our church will once again participate in the OCC Shoebox campaign this year. With school supplies on sale, now is a great time to pick up some items in preparation for packing a shoebox to bless a needy child.

Explore The Bible At Home
Many adults in our church are utilizing the Explore the Bible resources to dig deeper into God’s Word. Pick up your free copy of Acts 13-28 and join as we study this through the Fall Quarter, which is starting in September. These booklets are available in the foyer.

Pavilion Estimates
The church is now accepting estimates from contractors for building the pavilion. Please see Randy Albert for details, specifications, or questions. You can reach Randy at (814) 205-8905.

LEFC Fall Retreat
Join your LEFC church family for a weekend getaway on October 18-20! The Family Ministries Team is excited to invite you to our Fall Retreat, where we will hear teaching and grow spiritually, build community, experience rich fellowship, share meals, and have lots of fun! All ages are encouraged to attend and will have a place to engage during age-specific breakouts. You’ll have opportunities to play games, eat a s’more around the campfire, chat with old friends and get to know new ones!
The camp is just one hour away, and transportation can be provided if needed. The cost is $25 for an individual and $50 for couples and families, which covers housing, food, and activities for the weekend. We’ll even be back in time for church on Sunday! See Jordyn Skacel, Holly Crumrine, or Vicky Albert with questions. Registration information is on the table in the foyer.

Giving Opportunities
Designated giving funds are open for the deaconess compassion fund to help those in need within our church family. Please mark your gifts and drop them in the offering plate.

Offering
Thank you for continuing to support our ministries and missionaries. The offering plates are available at the back of the auditorium. Church Office
Our church office is open every week, Tuesday – Friday from 9:00am – 3:00pm. You can reach Jenni in the office by phone (814-345-6500) or email at churchoffice@lansefree.org. If you would like information to be in next week’s bulletin, please have it in by 1:00pm Thursday. Last minute prayer requests need to be submitted to the office by 9:00am on Friday.

Snack and Yack
There will be NO Snack and Yack today due to the Special Meeting after the service. It will resume next week with Keith & Heather Hurley.

Ladies’ Fellowship Hour
Ladies, join us on Wednesday mornings at 10:30am for a time of fellowship with one another, praying for one another and missionaries, and reading Scripture. All ladies are invited to attend.

Join Us at Prayer Meeting
Each Wednesday at 7:00pm, a group of Christians meet to pray and to study God’s Word in the Prayer Room. We are going through a study of the book of Psalms. Nobody is put on the spot to pray out loud, but all are encouraged to attend and help lift up the needs of our church, community, nation, and world.

Community Group
The community group meets Sunday evenings at 7:00pm in the Skacel home for fellowship and Bible study. People of all ages are welcome (including kids!). See Abe or Jordyn Skacel if you want to check it out!

Explore the Bible at Home
Many adults in our church are utilizing the Explore the Bible resources to dig deeper into God’s Word. Pick up your free copy of Acts 1-12 and join as we study this week with Session 12: Including. The Summer quarter resources are available in the foyer.

This Week in Kids Bible Class
What is the hope of the church? The church looks forward to Jesus’ return when He will make all things new. Today, the Little Learners and Bible Explorers will be studying Revelation 19-20 learning about how Jesus Will Return One Day. Resources for family worship centered on this lesson are available through the link you will receive in “The Family Table” email arriving this afternoon. For more information about this week’s lesson, check out The Gospel Project Big Picture Card for Volume 12, Unit 36, Session 2 which your family received in your mailbox.
