Lanse Evangelical Free Church

Church Family News

Communion Sunday

Today we will be passing communion plates for those partaking in the auditorium. There are pre-packaged communion elements for anyone, inside or outside, who would prefer to use them as we worship together at the Lord’s Table. We have a gluten free option for those with special dietary needs.

Kids Bible Class

Starting today, on the first Sunday of each month when the children are dismissed before the sermon, they will meet in the back of the auditorium to be taken to the fellowship hall for a time of singing before class. Questions? See Vicky Albert.

Special Guest for Mother’s Day

Come out and join us on May 14th and bring your mom along!  We will have Jim Knepp with us to share some special music as well as a message for the morning.  We want to recognize all ladies and moms this day and thank you for your impact in our lives!

“Cold Case Christianity”

How do I answer the questions that my unbelieving friends and family have? Is there evidence that the things we believe are true?  Join us next Sunday at 8:30am for our last class as we investigate the Gospels, study the evidence, and examine the witnesses from a detective’s perspective. If childcare is required, it can be arranged, let Abe Skacel or Keith Hurley know.

Graduation Sunday on May 28th

Every year we set aside some time to honor those in our church family who have graduated from high school, college, or graduate school. Are you completing any type of schooling during the 2022-2023 school year? Stop by the table in the foyer and pick up a Graduation Info Sheet and return to Misty Michaels or  fill out the form in the Lanse Link email by May 21st so that we can include you in our celebration.

Snack and Yack

When the auditorium empties after worship, young people in grades 3-7 who heard the sermon are invited to meet in Pastor Matt’s office for a snack and a brief interactive conversation about today’s message. To help kids listen closely, they can fill out a “Snack n’ Yack Notes” handout. Parents are always welcome to join in, too!

Ladies’ Fellowship Hour

Ladies, join us Wednesday, May 10th at 10:30am for a time of fellowship with one another, praying for one another and missionaries, reading Scripture, and enjoying occasional snacks. Bring a picture of you mother and a story to share this week. All ladies are invited to attend.

Join Us at Prayer Meeting

Each Wednesday at 7:00pm, a group of Christians meet to pray and to study God’s Word in the Prayer Room. Joel Michaels is leading us through a study of Acts. Nobody is put on the spot to pray out loud, but all are encouraged to attend and help lift up the needs of our church, community, nation, and world.

This Week in Kids Bible Class

What is mercy? Mercy is when God does not give us the punishment that we deserve. Today, the Little Learners and Bible Explorers will be studying Luke 18 learning how God is good to give mercy. Resources for family worship centered on this lesson are available through the link you will receive in “The Family Table” email arriving this afternoon. For more information about this week’s lesson, check out The Gospel Project Big Picture Card for Volume 4, Unit 12, Lesson 4 which your family received in your mailbox.

Explore the Bible at Home

Many adults in our church are utilizing the Explore the Bible resources to dig deeper into God’s word. Pick up your free copy of John 12-21 and join as we study this week with Session 10: I Find No Fault. The Spring quarter resources are available in the foyer.

A designated giving fund has been opened to offset the cost of registration for kids associated with our church. Mark your gift “Camp Fund” and drop it off in the offering plate.
