Church Family News

“Cold Case Christianity”

How do I answer the questions that my unbelieving friends and family have? Is there evidence that the things we believe are true?  Join us next Sunday at 8:30am for our adult pop-up class as we investigate the Gospels, study the evidence, and examine the witnesses from a detective’s perspective. If childcare is required, it can be arranged, let Abe Skacel or Keith Hurley know.

Mens’ Restroom Project

Please excuse our dust as the work in the mens’ restroom has started. We appreciate your understanding as we update this room. Men: the family restroom is open for you to use throughout this project.

Choir Folders

We are running low on black choir folders. If you are a former choir member who still has a folder, please return it to Amy Jo Belko.

Save the Date – Family Bible Week

Mark your calendar and make plans to join us for Family Bible Week July 10th -July 13th, and July 16th. See Holly Crumrine to be involved.

Christian Servant Academy’s annual 5K Run/Walk will be held Saturday, May 13th at Cold Stream Recreational Park starting at 10:00am. You can register online to participate.  For more information, check out the flyer on the community bulletin board.

West Branch Ministerium Scholarship

The H. Lee Hebel Memorial Scholarship is an annual scholarship given to a high school graduate or those pursuing a second career, and will, in the next 9 months, be enrolled in college, seminary, or Bible school. They should be pursuing full time Christian service, including pastoral ministry, counseling, youth ministry, or teaching in a Christian school. Applications should be postmarked by May 1st and can be found in the foyer on the Community Bulletin Board.

Snack and Yack

When the auditorium empties after worship, young people in grades 3-7 who heard the sermon are invited to meet in Pastor Matt’s office for a snack and a brief interactive conversation about today’s message. To help kids listen closely, they can fill out a “Snack n’ Yack Notes” handout. Parents are always welcome to join in, too!

Ladies’ Fellowship Hour

Ladies, join us Wednesday, April 26th at 10:30am for a time of fellowship with one another, praying for one another and missionaries, reading Scripture, and enjoying occasional snacks. This week’s leader is Nancy Wertz. All ladies are invited to attend.

Join Us at Prayer Meeting

Each Wednesday at 7:00pm, a group of Christians meet to pray and to study God’s Word in the Prayer Room. Joel Michaels is leading us through a study of the Gospels. Nobody is put on the spot to pray out loud, but all are encouraged to attend and help lift up the needs of our church, community, nation, and world.

This Week in Children’s Church

What is mercy? Mercy is when God does not give us the punishment that we deserve. Today, the Little Learners and Bible Explorers will be studying 1 Kings 6-9 learning how Solomon built the temple. Resources for family worship centered on this lesson are available through the link you will receive in “The Family Table” email arriving this afternoon. For more information about this week’s lesson, check out The Gospel Project Big Picture Card for Volume 4, Unit 12, Lesson 2 which your family received in your mailbox.

Explore the Bible at Home

Many adults in our church are utilizing the Explore the Bible resources to dig deeper into God’s word. Pick up your free copy of John 12-21 and join as we study this week with Session 8: I Pray. The Spring quarter resources are available in the foyer.

Summer Camp Fund

A designated giving fund has been opened to offset the cost of registration for kids associated with our church. Mark your gift “Camp Fund” and drop it off in the offering plate.

Solar Generator Giving

Due to skyrocketing costs and diesel fuel shortages in Haiti, Vision of Hope Ministries are raising funds for a solar generator for their school/church in Cap Haitian. You can give to help them with this project by marking your gift “Solar Panel” and dropping it off in the offering plate.

Giving Opportunities

Designated giving funds remain open for our deaconess compassion fund to help those in need within our church family and a future pavilion here at the church. Please mark your gifts and drop them in the offering plate.
