Malawi Missions Trip Meeting

There will be a planning/organizing meeting today after the service for those going on the Malawi Missions Trip. If anyone is still interested in joining the team, see Curt Quick.

Celebration Choir

Lift your voice and sing! The Celebration Choir is rehearsing every Thursday at 7:30pm during this season. Talk to Amy Jo Belko if you have any questions.

Office Hours

Misty is no longer in the church office during daytime business hours. Misty is checking emails (churchoffice@lansefree.org) on Thursday evenings. If you need something during the day, contact Pastor Matt (pastormatt@lansefree.org) during this transitional period.

Renewing the Prayer Guide

During this time of transition in the church office, we will be refreshing the “Ongoing Health Concerns” and “Cancer Treatments” section of the prayer guide. If you have a loved-one listed in those sections and want them to remain in the prayer guide, please indicate that via email (prayer@lansefree.org) or a written note in the offering plate by October 29th. If you have any questions, please contact Pastor Matt.

Email Prayer Chain Coordinator

We are looking for a trustworthy person with discretion and editorial ability to coordinate the prayer emails ministry. Training is available. See Pastor Matt if you are interested in helping with this ministry.

Bulletin Board Decorators

We are looking for people who would like to decorate the bulletin boards throughout the building to mark the seasons, emphasize current ministries, and celebrate biblical truth. Training is available. See Pastor Matt if you are interested in helping with this ministry.

Church Family Meal

Join us for our next church family meal on Sunday, October 29th following the service. Be thinking now about what tasty dish your family might bring to share with everyone. A main dish, side dish, salad, or dessert are all fair game!

Church Family Meeting

Next Sunday, October 29th is our next quarterly church family meeting. Members, plan to stay after the fellowship meal to hear ministry updates and plans. See Church Chairman Keith Folmar with any questions.

Kids Bible Classes

There will be a brief meeting on Sunday, November 5th for all Kids Bible Class staff and helpers.  Please meet in the fellowship hall following the church service. Anyone who may be interested in the Kids Bible Class Ministry are welcome to attend!  We are currently in need of a few substitute teachers. Please prayerfully consider joining this important ministry geared toward growing and equipping the next generation for Christ. Questions? See Vicky Albert

Community Event Volunteers

Our Family Ministries is looking for a small team for next Saturday, October 28th from 10am-3pm. Martha’s Park in Lanse is having an Apple Fest, and local churches are invited to have a booth to promote their ministries. We’d like to run a coloring or face painting station to allow time to talk to families and hand out an informational sheet on our programs. If you would like to volunteer or have thoughts on this, please see Holly Crumrine after church today.

Operation Christmas Child

Our church is once again participating in Operation Christmas Child, sponsored by Samaritan’s Purse. If you feel led to pack a shoebox for a child, take one of the boxes next week in the foyer and fill it up. The shoeboxes need to be returned to the church by Sunday, November 12th. Please bring any extra items that don’t fit in your shoeboxes as often we need an item or two to fill out other boxes. Each box will cost $10 to ship. If you are interested in sponsoring one or more of the shoeboxes we hope to send, mark your donation “Shoeboxes.” Questions? See Mary Beth Moslak.

Director of Family Ministry

The job description for the new part-time ministry position is posted in the foyer. If you are interested in knowing more about the vision for this new role at LEFC, talk with any of the church elders.

Follow the Lord in Water Baptism

We are planning for more baptisms again soon. If you would like to learn more about what it means to follow Christ in water baptism, talk to Pastor Matt for options that fit your schedule. Classes will be set up to meet your scheduling needs.

Snack and Yack

When the auditorium empties after worship, young people in grades 3-7 who heard the sermon are invited to meet in Pastor Matt’s office for a snack and a brief interactive conversation about today’s message. To help kids listen closely, they can fill out a “Snack n’ Yack Notes” handout. Parents are always welcome to join in, too! Leading this week is Abe & Jordyn Skacel.

Community Group

The community group meets Sunday evenings at 7pm in the Skacel home for fellowship and Bible study. People of all ages are welcome (including kids!). See Abe or Jordyn Skacel if you want to check it out!

Ladies’ Fellowship Hour

Ladies, join us Wednesday, October 25th at 10:30am for a time of fellowship with one another, praying for one another and missionaries, reading Scripture, and enjoying occasional snacks. Shelley Peterman will be leading. All ladies are invited to attend.

Join Us at Prayer Meeting

Each Wednesday at 7:00pm, a group of Christians meet to pray and to study God’s Word in the Prayer Room. We are going through a study of the book of Acts. Nobody is put on the spot to pray out loud, but all are encouraged to attend and help lift up the needs of our church, community, nation, and world.

This Week in Kids Bible Class

How should we feel when we sin? When we sin, we should feel sorry that we have disobeyed God and choose to obey Him. Today, the Little Learners and Bible Explorers will be studying Nehemiah 1-7 learning how Nehemiah rebuilt the walls. Resources for family worship centered on this lesson are available through the link you will receive in “The Family Table” email arriving this afternoon. For more information about this week’s lesson, check out The Gospel Project Big Picture Card for Volume 6, Unit 18, Session 2 which your family received in your mailbox.

Explore the Bible at Home

Many adults in our church are utilizing the Explore the Bible resources to dig deeper into God’s word. Pick up your free copy of Mark and join as we study this week with Session 8: Serves. The Fall quarter resources are available in the foyer.

Giving Opportunities
