The Family Table
Feeding the Faith of LEFC Families
The Family Table – November 6, 2022
November 6, 2022
Dear LEFC Parents,
I hope your family is entering into the month of November filled with thanksgiving for all of God’s good gifts and especially for the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. It might be a good idea to ask each family member to share something they are grateful for each day this month and then post it somewhere where everyone could see it or write it in a notebook to read again next year.
Welcome to “The Family Table”
I also hope you found the inaugural issue of this email helpful last week. Did you click through the link to The Gospel Project at Home? Did your family carve out 10-15 minutes for a devotional time together centered on last week’s lesson? If so, let us know what you thought were the best parts or the things that could be improved.
The Gospel Project at Home
Today, our Children’s Church continued the new Bible study in The Gospel Project with Volume 3, Unit 7, Session 2 – “God Stopped the Jordan River.”
Follow this link to find resources for a family devotional time based on this lesson: https://ministrygrid.lifeway.
If your student was in Little Learners or Bible Explorers this morning, they received a coloring page and take-home sheet that corresponds to this lesson. You have also been given a full-color Big Picture Card that you can use to reinforce the lesson with your child, as well. We are hoping this will help keep all of our LEFC kids “on the same page,” and feed their faith in Jesus.
Worldview Training for Youth
“Ideas Have Consequences.” Keith Hurley and his team are continuing to offer a worldview training class for youth (grades 7-12) in the upstairs Youth Room every other Sunday evening at 7:00pm. The next class is this evening! I hope your teen can participate.
And for Dessert…
This week’s recommended resource is a playlist.
“Gotta Know the Books” was the fun song we learned at Family Bible Week this last summer (Thanks, Cody!). It was created by the hip hop artist Shai Linne as part of his “Jesus Kids” album. The full album is worth listening to, especially if you and your kids like hip hop [Spotify, iTunes, Amazon]. There is a lot of repetition in there, which many rightly say is “the mother of learning.”
I hope your family eats it up.
Blessings,
Pastor Matt
