“Ideas Have Consequences.” Keith Hurley is planning to offer a worldview training class for youth (grades 7-12) in the upstairs Youth Room every other Sunday evening at 7:00pm beginning today. See him for more details.
Missionary Christmas in September
Each year we collect a special offering aimed to bless the missionaries we support and give them some extra money to use in whatever way they like. Donations will be accepted throughout the month of September. There are envelopes in the foyer on the resources tables or you can place it in the offering plate marked “Christmas.”

Mission To Malawi?
The Missions Ministry Team is prayerfully exploring the possibility of a short-term missions trip to Malawi in the future to work with our missionaries, Fred & Cindy Cressman. If this is something you may be interested in, see Curtis Quick for more information.
Join Us at Prayer Meeting
Each Wednesday at 7:00pm, a group of Christians meet to pray and to study God’s Word in the Fellowship Hall. Some who attend find it to be one of the most heartening hours of their week. Currently, Joel Michaels is leading us through a study of the Gospel of Mark. Nobody is put on the spot to pray out loud, but all are encouraged to attend and help lift up the needs of our church, community, nation, and world.
Children’s Church Meeting
The Children’s Church Team (teachers/helpers) will have a brief meeting on today after the worship gathering. Are you interested in helping with children’s church? We are looking for one more regular classroom helper or two to three more occasional substitutes. See Pastor Matt for more details.
Recommendations for Family Ministries
At the last church family meeting, the Family Discipleship Vision Team presented six formal recommendations for the congregation to prayerfully consider for next steps in our ministries to children, youth, and parents. These recommendations, including a draft of a potential job description for a future part-time director of family ministries, are available in the foyer to spark discussion among the church family. The next congregational meeting is scheduled for October 30th. If you have insights you want to share, talk with Pastor Matt or Cody Crumrine who are the elders overseeing the FDVT. Please keep praying for the FDVT as they continue their work.
Operation Christmas Child
Our church will once again participate in the OCC Shoebox campaign this year. With school supplies on sale, now is a great time to pick up some items in preparation for packing a shoebox to bless a needy child.
“Blessed to Be a Blessing”
The West Branch Ministerium will be holding a “Blessed to Be a Blessing” generosity fair on October 2nd from 2pm-4pm at Gethsemane UMC. In advance of this event, they are raising funds for the WB Ministerium Compassion Fund and the local Salvation Army Service Unit. These organizations help people in our community that have financial difficulty. You can donate by marking your gift “Blessing” and dropping it in the offering plate.

Many adults in our church are utilizing the Explore the Bible resources to dig deeper into God’s word. Pick up your free copy of Amos; Jonah; Hosea; Micah and join as we start our study this week with Session 2: Turn to God. The Fall quarter resources are now available in the foyer.
