Blessed to be a Blessing Festival

Watch this video for more information on this West Branch Ministerium sponsored event, then plan to come out and give back to help those in our community that have needs.  We are blessed, so be a blessing to others!

Youth Night

All JH/SH school kids and parents are invited to youth night! Join us Sunday, November 7 at 6:30 pm. We will snack on pizza, play some games, hear from Royal Servants. Let’s get together, reconnect, and get on mission to reach our friends and world with the good news about Jesus!

Daylight Savings Time

Next week we ‘fall back’ out of daylight savings time.  Be sure to set your clocks back one hour on Saturday night (November 6^th) so you arrive at the proper time for our worship gathering on November 7^th.

Communion

Prepackaged communion elements are available with the worship bulletins in the foyer. Be sure get yours before we worship at the Lord’s Table this morning.

Our Missionary Guest

Tobi Magill, our missionary to Papua New Guinea, joins us today to share about the work she was doing in PNG prior to returning to home assignment and medical leave to assist with her father’s care. Be sure to stay after and visit with Tobi during our coffee fellowship. Parents: Tobi will also have a special presentation for the kids during Children’s Church.

Thanksgiving Baskets

The deaconesses are collecting donations of food items to help brighten the Thanksgiving holiday of needy families in our community. Nonperishable items may be brought to the church through November 21^st. Our deaconess team will prepare all donations for safe delivery to needy families in our community. Please be sure to check the expiration dates on your donations to ensure they are fresh. If you know of any families who could use a basket this holiday season, please get in touch one of our Deaconess team members: Sylvia Gisewhite, Becky Hubler, Heather Hurley, Kay Knaul, Cindy Michaels, Renee Mostyn (Lead), Ildiko Schall, or Pam Weaver.

Lanse Free Blessings Tree

Help us fill our Blessings Tree in the foyer! We want to spend some time focusing on all the many blessings in our lives this year. Write down one of God’s blessings in your life on a leaf cutout from the basket in the foyer or pick up a leaf (or more!) and take them home to fill out. Then be encouraged as our Blessings Tree fills up this month. Blessings can also be emailed to the church office.

Church Family Budget Meeting

The annual budget meeting will be held Tuesday, November 9^th at 6:00pm. All interested people are invited to join the Elder Board and help make the budget plans for 2022. Leaders of ministries and committees who use church funds are asked to bring or send along their ministry’s needs and recommendations to this meeting. See Keith Folmar if you have any questions.

Ministry of Meals

Our Deaconess Team is looking for people willing to be a part of our meal ministry – blessing families with dinner delivered to their home when they have a significant life change or illness. If you would like to have your name on the list for this ministry opportunity, please fill out the form on the resource tables and drop them off in the offering plate or the box by the office. Thanks!

Operation Christmas Child

Our church is once again participating in Operation Christmas Child, sponsored by Samaritan’s Purse. Praise God that all 122 boxes we had here have been taken to be filled! But don’t let that stop you for participating this year. Boxes can be bought at many stores in the area. Items can also be bagged up and the church will purchase boxes later.  Return your shoeboxes to the church next Sunday. Extra items that don’t fit in your shoeboxes will be used to fill out other boxes and/or make up even more boxes. Shipping is $9. If you are interested in sponsoring one or more of the shoeboxes we hope to send, mark your donation “Shoeboxes.”

Holiday Decorations

Maria Jackson has volunteered to head up our decorations team for the upcoming Christmas season. Talk with Maria and let her know your availability as we prepare to deck the halls!

Follow the Lord in Water Baptism

We are planning for more baptisms again this Winter. If you would like to learn more about what it means to follow Christ in water baptism, talk to Pastor Matt for options that fit your schedule. Classes will be set up to meet your scheduling needs.

Explore the Bible at Home

Many adults in our church are utilizing the Explore the Bible resources to dig deeper into God’s word using Explore the Bible: Philippians; Colossians; Philemon. Pick up your free copy today and complete Session 10: The Gospel’s Freedom this week.
