Church Family News

  • Guest Preachers: Our guest preacher today is Donnie Rosie from Miracle Mountain Ranch. Be sure to thank him for being able to be here to help “feed the flock.”

    Next Sunday, Peter Bors will be preaching here at LEFC. He’s one of our supported missionaries serving with ReachGlobal Crisis Response.

  • Mom & Kids Playdate: Our monthly Moms & Kids Playdate is on Thursday October 15th from 9-10:00am. Moms who are home with their kids are encouraged to come and join us.
  • Parking Lot Paving: Our western parking lot will be paved on Friday, October 16th. We fully expect to be able to use the parking lot on Sunday October 18th. Please be aware of the entrance change, and we probably will not have lines painted for that Sunday.
  • Church Family Fall Feast!: Bring your favorite soups and chilis, apple pies and pumpkin rolls (or any other dessert you love) to share with your church family for lunch after the service on October 25th. Come, everyone, and enjoy the feast and the fellowship!
  • Church Family Meeting: Sunday, October 25th is our next quarterly church family meeting. Members, plan to stay after the fellowship meal. See Church Chairman Cody Crumrine with any questions.
  • Operation Christmas Child: Our church is participating in Operation Christmas Child, sponsored by Samaritan’s Purse. If you feel led to pack a shoebox for a child, start thinking about it now to be prepared. The shoeboxes will be here within the next few weeks and will need to be returned to the church by Sunday, November 8th. Each box will cost $10 to ship. If you are interested in sponsoring one or more of the shoeboxes, mark your donation “Shoeboxes.” Questions? See Mary Beth Moslak.
  • Find Your Place To Serve: Looking for a way to get more connected at church? Serving is a great way to meet people, build relationships, learn new skills, and discover how God has gifted you. There are several ways to get involved:
    • Greeting – Welcome people as the arrive and get to know others in our church family.
    • Tech Team – Learn something new while helping with the technology that makes our worship services possible.
    • Attendance – Help keep track of those worshiping with us while getting to know the people who make up our church family.
    • Other Ministries – Nursery, KBC Teachers & Assistants, Prayer Corners, Coffee Ministry, etc. There are many other opportunities to serve depending on your interests, abilities, and availability.

    You don’t need to know exactly where you fit. Come give it a try, meet some new people, and see how serving can become a meaningful part of your church life. Interested in getting involved? Talk to Keith Hurley or contact the church office at [email protected].

  • Celebration Choir: The Celebration Choir is rehearsing every Thursday at 7:30pm during this season. Please see Amy Jo Belko to get involved. No Choir this week (Oct 8).
  • Pastor Appreciation Month: October is Pastor Appreciation Month. Remember to thank Pastor Matt & Heather for their hard work, sacrificial dedication, and multiple blessings they have provided to us by serving our Lord here at LEFC. As our gift of appreciation to Pastor Matt & Heather, we sent them to the Allegheny District Pastors and Wives Retreat this weekend.
  • Our Daily Bread: The October, November, and December edition of Our Daily Bread is now available in the foyer.

Growing Together

  • LEFC Roots  (Grades 4–6) Sundays @ 6:30pm  — New for youth in grades 4-6. See Curtis Quick or Marilynn Kristofits for questions.

  • Youth Group (Grades 7–12) Sundays @ 6:30pm  — For students grades 7 and up. Runs 10 weeks. For more information, see Cody & Holly Crumrine.

  • Adult Class Sundays @ 6:30pm — Meets in the Fellowship Hall. Currently studying the EFCA Statement of Faith. For more information, see Keith Hurley.

  • Ladies’ Fellowship Hour Wednesdays @ 10:30am — Join us for a time of fellowship, praying for one another and missionaries, and reading Scripture.

  • Prayer Meeting Wednesdays @ 7:00pm — Meets in the Prayer Room to pray and study God’s Word (currently studying Judges). Nobody is put on the spot to pray out loud, and all are encouraged to attend.

  • Explore the Bible at Home: Many adults in our church are utilizing the Explore the Bible resources to dig deeper into God’s Word. Pick up your free copy of Romans in the foyer and join us as we study Session 5: Freedom.

  • This Week in Kids Bible Class: Today, the Little Learners and Bible Explorers will study Matthew 14, Mark 6,John 6 (Jesus Walked on Water). Resources for family worship arrive in “The Family Table” email this afternoon. Check your child’s Gospel Project Big Picture Card sent home today. Questions or need access?   • Designated Giving Opportunities: Open funds include the Deaconess Compassion Fund (local church family needs), Summer Camp (registration fees), and future updates to the Ark Park Pavilion. Please mark your gifts clearly and drop them in the offering plate.
