Church Family News

  • Lost and Found: Our lost and found box has been accumulating stuff, and it’s time for some cleaning. We have items laid out on the foyer table. Please stop by and see you have left anything or if anything catches your eye. All items will be discarded after Oct 4th.
  • Celebration Sunday: Join us on Sunday, September 20th to celebrate LEFC’s 134th birthday! Weather-permitting, we will be meeting outdoors in the Ark Park Pavilion for a special worship service, annual church family photo, and anniversary cake.
  • Missionary Christmas in September: Each year we collect a special offering aimed to bless the missionaries we support and give them some extra money to use in whatever way they like. Donations will be accepted throughout the month of September. There are envelopes in the foyer on the resources tables or you can mark your gift “Christmas” and drop it in the offering plate.
  • Apple Fest Opportunity: The 10th annual Apple Fest is being held at Martha’s Park in Lanse on October 10 from 10-3. Our church has been invited to participate. If you would like to spearhead this effort, talk to Holly Crumrine for more event details.
  • See You At The Pole: All are invited to join West Branch’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes for a time of prayer at the school’s flagpole. Students will meet at 7:10am on Wednesday, September 23rd. Adults, please park at Gethsemane, walk to the flagpole, and join the kids as they pray for their school.
  • New Bible Table: Are you looking for a new Bible for yourself, a family member, or a friend? Check out the updated Bible Table in the foyer for ideas before you go shopping. We have a variety of Bibles that Pastor Matt recommends. Inside each is an info sheet telling you more about its features and approximate cost. On the table are Bibles created for children, youth, and adults including some specially designed for people with dyslexia and other reading challenges. Questions? See Keith Hurley for more information.
  • Heading to College?: Please give your address to the church office so that our church family can be an encouragement to you this school year.
  • KBC Teacher and Helper Meeting: There will be a meeting in the auditorium immediately following the service on Sunday, Sept. 6 for all current KBC teachers and volunteers. We are looking for some additional teachers/helpers to join our KBC Staff. If you enjoy working with kids and have a heart for the next generation for Christ, please join us at the Sept. 6 meeting or see Vicky or Jordyn to learn more.
  • Matt & Jenni Cox Sabbatical: Matt has been on staff since 1992 at Miracle Mountain Ranch and is currently the Executive Director. The MMR board is encouraging them to step away for a rest, which is financially challenging. There has been an account set up to enable others to give towards this goal, and they’ve had some offers of discounted or free places to stay, but travel and food will still be an expense. If you would like to give towards their opportunity to take a sabbatical, you may do so through the ranch as a tax-exempted gift, just label it “Cox Sabbatical.”
