Egg Hunt at the Ark Park: Thank You!
Praise God for another successful Egg Hunt at the Ark Park! Over 60 children and their families heard the Gospel yesterday on our church campus! Thank you to all who gave donations and/or helped out at the hunt.

Calling All Moms: Mom’s Night Out!
Moms with children in the home or those who are expecting are invited to join us on May 16th at 7:00 at the church for a fun night of conversation, fellowship, plenty of snacks, a craft, and an engaging guest speaker. Take this opportunity to get out of the house and gather with fellow moms for a soul-refreshing evening! Nursing babies are welcome. Last year, we had a wonderful time together. The event is free, but registration is highly encouraged so we can plan well. Register here to attend!
Child Protection Policy Meetings
Are you a parent of an LEFC child or a Family Ministries volunteer (have submitted your clearances with us)? On June 1st, we will be rolling out our new Child Protection Policy. This policy brings with it some new changes to our children’s programs that you need to be aware of. We have scheduled meetings, as detailed below, to introduce you to the new policy and the changes that it will bring. We want to make sure that on June 1st, you are prepared and that confusion is avoided. We will share important information with you and answer any questions you may have so that you feel informed and equipped. If you are unable to attend these dates, please speak with Jordyn Skacel.

This Week’s Challenge: Four Fantastic Facts!
Each child who attended the Egg Hunt at the Ark Park received a goodie bag with a Four Fantastic Facts booklet inside. This colorful little booklet presents the Gospel in a way that little hearts can understand and explains how they can become follower of Jesus. This week’s challenge is to share that booklet with your child and talk with them about whether they might choose to put their faith in Jesus for the first time this Easter. If you were unable to attend yesterday, extra booklets can be found in the foyer or a PDF version can be found here. For older children, consider sharing the adult version of the Four Fantastic Facts, the Four Spiritual Laws.
LEFC Family Worship Spotify Playlist: New Link!
Did you know we have a Spotify playlist of the songs we sing in church on Sundays? This playlist was created as a resource for families to use in their homes, for personal worship time, in the car, and on the go. Due to recent staff changes in our office, the playlist now has a new link! Check it out here.
“Jesus at the Temple” Kids Bible Class Devotional
You have free access to a family devotional based on the curriculum our kids are studying each week in KBC! It’s called “The Gospel Project at Home.” Today’s Bible Study is “John’s Ministry Began” (Volume 7: Unit 20: Session 1), and the devotional can be found at this link.
Visit the Family Ministries page on our website for information about how to access The Gospel Project at Home for the first time.
And for Dessert…
Our recommendation for family discipleship this week is a book your teenager might read with 50 amazing reasons why the resurrection of Jesus changed everything.
During this season for the last dozen years, I (Pastor Matt) have pulled out my copy of Risen by Steven Mathewson to refresh my mind and heart of what the resurrection accomplishes in our lives.
Mathewson has done a marvelous job of crafting 50 bite-sized meditations on the resurrection that are both theological and applicational at the same time. It’s perfect for reading between Resurrection Sunday (Easter) and Holy Spirit Sunday (Pentecost). Mathewson masterfully takes readers on a treasure hunt through the New Testament to find out how the apostles connected the doctrine of the resurrection to other points of doctrine and then to our lives.
Each reading fits on just two pages, and every teen in our church could aborb them in a few minutes. (Their parents could, too!)
Many of the chapters are about things your teen might know about, but I’ll bet that many are things the have never thought about or thought as deeply or as interconnectedly on the level that Risen takes readers, especially all at one time. I’m sure I’ll be delving into Risen again next year.
More:
– Pastor Matt would be happy to loan his copy of Risen to you or your teen.
– Read an interview with the author.
– Listen to an interview with the author.
– Listen to the author take questions about the book on a radio program.
We hope your family eats it right up.
