Egg Hunt at the Ark Park: This Week!

We are so excited to invite you to this year’s Egg Hunt at the Ark Park on Saturday, April 4th! This event is a wonderful opportunity for us to open our doors and welcome the community to our campus for a morning of fun and a chance to share the Good News of Easter. To make this event a success for children ages 0–12, we are currently seeking prize donations. If you would like to contribute, please drop off your donations under the table in the foyer by this Friday.

Beyond donations, we are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us host our neighbors and ensure everything runs smoothly. Registration for the event begins at 9:00 AM, and we ask that all volunteers be present by that time to help welcome our guests. The hunt itself kicks off at 10:00 AM, and we would love to have you partner with us in making this a memorable morning for every family who attends. Thank you for your continued generosity and support!

Christian Content for Yotos

Have you heard of the Yoto player? I (Jordyn) love these little screen-free audio players and have them for my kids. They can just pop a card in and the player will play content, whether narrating books, telling stories, or playing music. But here’s the best part: there are Yoto cards with Christian content! If your child loves the Tiny Theologians podcast, which we highly recommend, they can hear Mr. Truman’s songs on the accompanying Yoto cards! You can also check out Kaleidoscope Kids Yoto Cards, offering several books of the Bible and adding new ones every few months (and check out their accompanying resources, too!). And finally, Tales that Tell the Truth has created a card with several of their engaging Children’s books, some of which were featured at our book fair! Happy listening!

Egg Your Yard: Last Day to Register!

Support our Challenge students! Friends and family of LEFC can wake up to their own personal egg hunt on Easter morning for a suggested donation of $50 for 100 eggs or $75 for 150 eggs. Deliveries will be made the evening of April 4th, rain or shine. Reservations and payment are due TODAY. You can register online with this link or by filling out a registration form on the table in the church lobby.

LEFC Family Worship Spotify Playlist: New Link!

Did you know we have a Spotify playlist of the songs we sing in church on Sundays? This playlist was created as a resource for families to use in their homes, for personal worship time, in the car, and on the go. Due to recent staff changes in our office, the playlist now has a new link! Check it out here.

This Week’s Challenge: Preparing for Easter Part 2

Did you take us up on the challenge last week to plan how you might prepare your child’s heart for Easter? Now is the time to put it into action! This week’s challenge is to carry out the plan that you made last week when thinking about focusing on Jesus amid the swirl of Easter activities on your calendar. Need a reminder of what ideas might be a good fit? Here are a few:

Skim through your child’s Bible and bookmark the Easter story for reading through at bedtime. Take a look at Tiny Theologians’ Easter resources, one of which is a podcast available on most streaming platforms, detailed below in the dessert section. For older children (viewer discretion is advised), watch the Jesus film together as a family (or check out their other, shorter videos) and discuss what you watched. The important thing is that you plan to do something to engage your child’s heart this Easter as we celebrate Jesus’ resurrection.

“Jesus at the Temple” Kids Bible Class Devotional

You have free access to a family devotional based on the curriculum our kids are studying each week in KBC! It’s called “The Gospel Project at Home.” Today’s Bible Study is “Jesus at the Temple” (Volume 7: Unit 19: Session 4), and the devotional can be found at this link.

Visit the Family Ministries page on our website for information about how to access The Gospel Project at Home for the first time.

And for Dessert…

Our recommendation for family discipleship this week is a special series of kids’ podcasts focused on the events of Holy Week.

The cast and crew of Tiny Theologians are taking a short break from their ABC’s of Theology series to provide an 11-day set of podcasts focused on the events of Passion Week entitled “He Is Risen.”

Here’s how they describe it: “Together with TJ, Tory, and their neighborhood friends, we’ll walk through the true story of Easter—seeing Jesus enter Jerusalem, go to the cross, rise from the grave, and show us that He is alive! Each day, we’ll open God’s Word, learn something new, and discover just how amazing Jesus really is.”

We have recommended resources from Tiny Theologians over the years. Their podcast is of consistent quality, with sound doctrine, strong production values, and entertaining content. This particular series is also coordinated with a felt banner and boxed card set they sell in their shop, but you don’t have to have those to listen and learn from the episodes.

The first episode came out yesterday, and they will run daily until April 7th (and be available afterwards). Today might be a good day to pop the headphones on your little ones and get them started listening of the events of that terrible and wonderful week in the life and ministry of our Lord.

P.S. Do you as a parent want to go deeper yourself into the events and meaning of Holy Week? You might want to utilize the Final Days of Jesus Course at The Gospel Coalition. This free course provides scripture readings, explanatory videos, and supplemental resources for each day of Passion Week. Teens would also profit from clicking through each step.
