Moms & Kids Playdate

This Thursday is our monthly Moms & Kids Playdate from 9:00-10:00 in the Fellowship Hall. Moms who are at home with your kids of any age, come join us!

LEFC Christmas Eve Service

While planning your Christmas festivities, don’t forget to include our Christmas Eve Candlelight service on your family’s calendar at 7:00. Would you like to be a part of making this service special? We are in need of people willing to fill roles like greeting and reading, but we’re also in need of those interested in sharing their talents with special music or drama presentations. Interested in being part of the service that evening? See Pastor Matt.

Christmas Caroling – Coming Soon!

Bring your family along for our LEFC Christmas Caroling event next Sunday, December 21st at 2:00pm! We will gather on campus and practice a few favorite songs before caravanning throughout our community to brighten the holiday season of some of our beloved church families (older folks and shut-ins). No sign-ups necessary. Just show up! The kids that came along last year had a great time.

Save the Date: Dads & Kids Mario Kart Tournament

Dads and Kids, join us on the evening of Friday January 16th at 6:00 for a Mario Kart Tournament! Spend an evening connecting with your kid(s) and other families playing Mario Kart on various gaming systems, snacking, and spending some time in the Word. This is a special event for dads and kids to enjoy together. See Jordyn if you’re able to provide a gaming system with Mario Kart, a spare TV we can use, or are willing to bring a snack along!

Family Bible Week 2026

Save the date for Family Bible Week June 14-18, 2026! Be sure to plan your family vacations and activities around this date so your family can participate as we shine a light on who Jesus really is! Be considering how you might be able to fill critical roles to make this year a success.

This Week’s Challenge: Spreading Christmas Cheer

One of the traditions we (the Skacels) started several years ago was taking Christmas cookies around to our neighbors and delivering a Christmas card with it. It has helped us to get to know our neighbors and to brighten their holiday season, as a few of them don’t have many family or friends who visit or are elderly shut-ins. It has been fun watching this tradition come back around, as some neighbors have sent us cookies, too. This week’s challenge is to drop something off (cookies, candy, a card, etc.) for a neighbor of yours this Christmas! It could serve as a pathway to deepening your relationship and paving the way for spiritual conversation down the road.

Kids Christmas Presentation

All kids age Preschool – Grade 6 are invited to participate in a combined Adult Choir & Kids Christmas Presentation taking place during the morning worship service on Sunday, December 21st. Join us as we share the Nativity Story with songs, costumes and action!

Practices will be every Sunday from now – December 14th during the first 15 minutes of Kids Bible Class time in the prayer room. Dress rehearsal for both kids and adults will be on Saturday December 20th at 9:00am. If you have any questions, see Vicky Albert or Amy Jo Belko.

Youth Group Schedule

Youth Group resumes this week! Join us tonight at 7:00. We’ll be on break again after this week for the Christmas season.

“Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego” Kids Bible Class Devotional

You have free access to a family devotional based on the curriculum our kids are studying each week in KBC! It’s called “The Gospel Project at Home.” Today’s Bible Study is “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego” (Volume 6: Unit 16: Session 2), and the devotional can be found at this link.

Visit the Family Ministries page on our website for information about how to access The Gospel Project at Home for the first time.

And for Dessert…

This week’s recommendation for family discipleship is an animated Christian Christmas movie for you to enjoy while you’re watching Christmas movies! The Star is an animated film telling the story of Jesus’ birth. It’s exceptionally well done, which I (Jordyn) appreciate. The story is told in a way that brings it to life, the music is great, and the voiceovers fit the characters well and even feature voices you may recognize.

Our family has enjoyed watching The Star every year since we stumbled upon it. I enjoy classic Christmas movies, too, but very few even mention Christ’s birth. I love that this is one I can show them to reiterate the story of Jesus in a fun way that we all enjoy. Even as an adult, I genuinely get excited to watch it!

I encourage your family to pop some popcorn, get cozy on the couch, and watch The Star together this Christmas season. To watch, check it out on Netflix, YouTube, Apple TV, or Prime Video, among other streaming platforms. I hope your family enjoys it as much as ours does!
