Church Family News

Communion Sunday
Today we will be passing communion plates for those partaking in the auditorium. There are pre-packaged communion elements for anyone, inside or outside, who would prefer to use them as we worship together at the Lord’s Table. We have a gluten free option for those with special dietary needs.

Guest Preacher
Our guest preacher today is Kerry Doyal, our Allegheny District Superintendent. Take a moment to greet him and his wife Robin as they join us for Celebration Sunday. Kerry and Robin will even be joining and teaching the Youth Group this evening!

Celebration Sunday
Plan to join us after the service today for our Church Family Photo in the auditorium followed by a time of fellowship with a church family meal and games out on the lawn.

Out Of Office
Jenni will be out of the office starting Friday, October 11^th and will not be back into the office until Tuesday, October 22^nd. Misty Michaels will be covering the essentials of the church office during that time. See Pastor Matt for any immediate needs.

Pastor Appreciation Month
October is Pastor Appreciation Month. Remember to thank Pastor Matt & Heather for their hard work, sacrificial dedication, and multiple blessings they have provided to us by serving our Lord here at LEFC. As our gift of appreciation to Pastor Matt & Heather, we are sending them to the Allegheny District Pastors and Wives retreat October 11^th-13^th.

Welcome Teams Meeting
The Greeting, Attendance and Foyer Teams are having a brief meeting after service on Sunday, October 27^th for training, encouragement and sharing ideas. If you are a part of these teams or have interest in joining, please attend! Please see Katie Kerlin, Haylee Simler, or Jenni English if you have any questions.

Hurricane Helena Response
ReachGlobal Crisis Response is mobilizing to support EFCA churches as they share the love of Christ in affected communities. While washed out roads, power outages and disrupted cell service have slowed the ability to assess the situation and connect with churches, Crisis Response staff are currently visiting sites in Florida and North Carolina. You can be a part of the response by marking your gift to the church, by giving online (give.efca.org/projects/hurricane-helene-response), or by mailing a check designated Hurricane Helene Response – 21709-3969 to: EFCA 901 East 78th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55420-1300.

It’s Not Too Late To Join Us For The Fall Retreat!
Has your family registered yet for our Fall Retreat? Take the opportunity now to register for a weekend of faith-building, fellowship, and lots of funs with your LEFC Church Family! We strongly encourage all of our LEFC families to come and enjoy time together! Fall Retreat is a weekend getaway on October 18-20! All ages are encouraged to attend and will have a place to engage during age-specific breakouts. You’ll have opportunities to play games, eat a s’more around the campfire, chat with old friends and get to know new ones! The came is just one hour away and transportation can be provided. The cost is only $25 for an individual and $50 for couples and families, which covers housing, food, and activities for the weekend. Director of Family Ministry
Jordyn Skacel serves as our Director of Family Ministry. She is happy to meet with you at the church, in her home, in your home, or in public, with or without kids! Catch her at church or contact her via phone, text, or email, (814) 592-9280 or families@lansefree.org to schedule a time to meet. She’d love to hear your ideas, how you’d like to be involved, and to be a resource for your family.

Youth Group
The youth group is meeting on Sunday evenings at 7:00pm. All students in grades 7 and up are invited to come for games, snacks, and fun while learning to study our Bibles together. The youth group will be learning to grow closer to God by studying the book of Ephesians. See Cody and Holly Crumrine for more information. This week, Kerry and Robin Doyal will be leading!

Snack and Yack
There will be NO Snack and Yack this week due to Celebration Sunday. It will resume next week with leaders Abe & Jordyn Skacel.

Ladies’ Fellowship Hour
Ladies, join us on Wednesday mornings at 10:30am for a time of fellowship with one another, praying for one another and missionaries, and reading Scripture. All ladies are invited to attend.

Join Us at Prayer Meeting
Each Wednesday at 7:00pm, a group of Christians meet to pray and to study God’s Word in the Prayer Room. We are going through a study of the book of Psalms. Nobody is put on the spot to pray out loud, but all are encouraged to attend and help lift up the needs of our church, community, nation, and world.

Community Group
The community group meets Sunday evenings at 7:00pm in the Skacel home for fellowship and Bible study. People of all ages are welcome (including kids!). See Abe or Jordyn Skacel if you want to check it out!

Explore the Bible at Home
Many adults in our church are utilizing the Explore the Bible resources to dig deeper into God’s Word. Pick up your free copy of Acts 13-28 and join as we study this week with Session 6: Every Opportunity. The Fall quarter resources are available in the foyer.

This Week in Kids Bible Class
God Made a Promise. Today, the Little Learners and Bible Explorers will be studying Genesis 11-13 learning about Abram Followed God. Resources for family worship centered on this lesson are available through the link you will receive in “The Family Table” email arriving this afternoon. For more information about this week’s lesson, check out The Gospel Project Big Picture Card for Volume 1, Unit 2, Session 1 which your family received in your mailbox.
