Preparing for On-Campus Worship with Lanse Free Church
We are eager and excited to have people join us for on-campus worship! We have created this guide to help families prepare to participate in one of our two new worship gatherings on Sunday mornings: 9:00 and 10:30. We want this to be the best worship experience possible during these unusual days. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the church office.
1. Prepare Your Heart.
Before attending any worship gathering, it is a good practice to ready your heart for interacting with God and with His people. Ask the Lord in prayer for His blessing on your participation in worship and fellowship. Choose a passage of Scripture to meditate upon such as Psalm 23, Psalm 100, Ephesians 1, or Hebrews 1. Prepare any children you are bringing for what to expect. Ask the Lord to make your family a blessing to others as you come on campus, clothing yourself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience (Colossians 3:12).
2. Choose A Worship Time.
We offer two on-campus worship times on Sunday mornings: 9:00am and 10:30am. The 9:00 worship gathering is especially designed for people with more health concerns, and everyone who participates is committed to being careful in observing health precautions. The 10:30 worship gathering is designed for people with fewer health concerns, yet all present are also asked to follow the current PA Health Department’s orders to the best of their abilities.
Additional Outdoor Seating Options
We are broadcasting audio of both worship times into the church parking lot on 89.5 FM. We also have a tent seating section available with a sound system transmitting the words and music outside when weather allows. While outdoors, protective face coverings are optional for all. Outdoor worship resources are available on tables near the entrances.
3. Inform Yourself of Risks.
Before attending a gathering of people during this outbreak, it is wise to learn about COVID-19. You can find good and current information at the Centers for Disease Control and the PA Department of Health.
4. Before You Leave Home on Sunday:
Make sure you are healthy. If you are feeling sick, have a fever, or have been around others who are sick, please stay home and utilize the Worship at Home resources provided online.
If you are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19, please bring a clean protective face covering for each member of your group ages 2 and up. Disposable masks will be provided for anyone who needs one. The building will have been thoroughly cleaned before the 9:00 am worship time.
5. As You Arrive:
The doors will open approximately 15 minutes before the worship gathering. Many doors and windows will be open, and fans will be running to increase ventilation and air flow.
Before entering the building, put on your protective face covering in compliance with the current order of the Pennsylvania Secretary of Health requiring protective face coverings. Masks are not required for children under 2, for people with conditions that prohibit their safe wearing, and for fully-vaccinated people.
As you walk in, you will be greeted by the Welcome Team and encouraged to pick up a printed Worship Guide. The offering plates will be available near the entrance to the auditorium and will not be passed during the service.
We have marked off spaced seating in the auditorium for the 9:00am service. At the 9:00am service, we ask you to sit on the end of an unmarked pew. At the 10:30am service, seating is completely open. Please be mindful of those around you, and if you are wanting to sit close to a neighbor, ask them beforehand.
6. During the Worship Gathering:
Enjoy being with your church family worshiping the Lord Jesus Christ! Pray for the rest of the church family who may attend another worship time or be worshiping at home.
Cry Rooms equipped with sound system speakers are available for parents to take a fussy child during worship. A Children’s Church program (ages 3-3rd grade) is offered during the second half of the 10:30 am service. When the weather is favorable, the Children’s Church program will meet outdoors where masks are optional. Please have your children dress appropriately.
**We are glad to have families with young children participating in on-campus worship. We know that kids will struggle to consistently wear a face covering and may not understand social distancing. We ask that parents do their best to help their kids comply and that everyone extend as much patience with and kindness to each other as possible.
7. As the Worship Time Ends:
Please be mindful of and patient with others as people find their way out of the auditorium.
Take time to reflect on how gathered worship helped you to grow in your relationship with the Lord and begin making your plans to worship again with us next week.
See you Sunday!
